Shauna Marble - Celebrating 20+ years of Lindy Hop!

Shauna is known for her professionalism, experience, humor, playfulness, musicality, approachability, and especially for her ease at breaking down difficult concepts into tangible checklist items for any dance level. She has a genuine love for her students, and works towards bringing out each student’s own style and hidden potential. She loves to inspire and encourage others, and looks for any opportunity to share what she knows.

She has over vast experience teaching Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Breakdancing, Hip Hop, and Swing. Her first dance partner was her brother, David. The two competed a Tap/Jitterbug routine at a dance competition when Shauna was just eight years old in 1988! She found Lindy Hop in 1995, when the California Neo-Swing revival hit, and is one of the original Sacramento Lindy Hoppers (if you remember Aces, The Grad, or The Marquee then you might be as old school as her).

Shauna had an early start with Lindy Hop, winning two national Lindy Hop titles in the early 2000's, teaching in 4 states, and coaching swing dance troupes before she had a baby and took a few years off. After 2 kids, Shauna returned to win over 20 1st place Jack and Jill titles, and many other partner competitions. Shauna has a World Championship title dancing for the Woodside Jumpers, and many other placements at national competitions.

She feels her best contributions to the dance are her free online curriculum documenting her 20+ years of lindy hop: Lindy Ladder, and in creating a community of dancers from all levels and areas surrounding Denver. Denver Swing Project has over 40 members including dance troupes and classes.

Known locally for her work with youth dancers, Shauna is especially passionate about working with teens. She has taken youth dancers to the International Lindy Hop Competition to compete, and many of her troupe members are under 18!.

As a tap dancer, Shauna also has many national titles, and was an instructor in the tap department at Brigham Young University (BYU Provo, UT). She has run tap programs at several dance studios in the Denver area, coaching competitive groups and individuals.

Shauna's other passion lies in the Performing Arts and Musical Theater. She is Founder and Executive Producer of Prairie Playhouse, a Musical Theater Company in Brighton, Colorado, where she directs large musicals several times a year. She is also an Ellie-Nominated Actress, and winner of several Director Awards. Shauna also teaches Voice and Piano lessons.
